Ink Cartridges
Bring in your used printer cartridges to Home Room and get 15 points for each!
Not many people know that most printer cartridges can simply be sent back to the manufacturer and used again. ISS will pack up your cartridges for you and send them straight back to HP, Epson, or wherever they came from.

Old Spectacles
Bring in your old, broken, or unwanted spectacles and get 25 house points for every pair!
Thanks to Ms Christine Kemp, ISS participates in a programme available exclusively in the UK in which used spectacles are repaired by skilled prison inmates across the country, and then shipped to places - mainly in Africa - where people would otherwise not have access to them.

Old cellphones
Bring in your old phone and get 100 house points!
These phones will be handed into a Telehuset or Telekiosken, who will then send them onto their UK partner, Greener Solutions. The phones are repaired and sent to countries in Asia. Any phones that cannot be fixed will be sent to an EU-regulated recycling plant where 90% of the materials will be used in the manufacturing of new products.
This programme reduces the need for production and extraction of metals and materials used in the manufacturing of new phones. Furthermore, phones thrown into landfills cause leakages of harmful chemicals into the earth.

Bring in your used postage stamps and get 1 house point for each!
Just cut the stamps off the envelopes, leaving a slight margin (approx. 1/2 inch) to keep the perforation intact. Damaged stamps are unfortunately worthless. We are also happy to receive stamp collections!
Ms Kemp will then send your stamps to TUBFRIM. This is a Norwegian charity that sells old stamps and uses the proceeds to help handicapped children and youth in Norway, and to finance the efforts to eradicate tuberculosis.
